Charels Darwin
Hey it's Tiffany. I was wandering around in a museum, looking for the restrooms. I took a wrong turn and went into a dark room with an old painting. The sign read: CHARLES DARWIN 1809 - 1882. I wanted to firgure out who "Charles Darwin" was. And then, the painting started to talk!!! It sounded fake, but it was real! He said "Hello, Lassie! Why, I'll tell you about my life!" That was really scary, but I went along with it. "So,wend did you die?" I asked out of hesitation. "Well, honey, can you read?" He said. "1882, of course! That is what it says on the name plate!" I felt stupid, but I asked more questions. "Well, I died in England. Does that answer your question?" He interupted me before I could ask him another question. I said "Sure" and went on with the question asking. I found out that he wrote the book on the Orgin of Species and he graduated from the University of Edinburgh. He's also a scientist in the Galapagos Islands.

Creatures
Hey, it's Tiffany! We made freinds with the fruit vendor, Carlos. He's really nice. He mentioned a museum about a mile away, so we went. In the back, they had a zoo! Some of the animals I hadn't even heard of! Later on, we went to the penguin habitat. Our guide gave us a paper about the endangered animal:
HELP THE PENGUIN!!!
Did you know that the Galapagos penguins are endangered. This is the third smallest species. In 2004 there were 1,500 penguins. Ninety percent of the penguins live on the western islands. One of the reasons they are endangered is because of the many predetors- crabbs, snakes, owls, hawks, sharks, fur seals, and sea lions. They have an unreliable food source. Also, Illegal fishermen inturupt their nest and catch them in fishing nets. Dogs, cats, and rats also disturb their nests.

First Day Stranded
Hey,it's Kristen, Kaylyn, and Tiffany. We have just arrived at the Galapagos Islands. Kaylyn said that she's super exited and ready to learn. I say that I'm not exited because it's going to rain, and Tiffany said that she just spotted a blue footed-booby. She hopes it's freindly! Here's some pics she snapped.
We decided to take a walk on the beach and saw a fruit stand! Here's a picture.
We wanted some basic information, but the fruit vendor gave us more. One of the things he told us was that the Europeans dicovered these islands. Also, it was formed by a volcano. We didn't even know where we were, since the plane crashed. The islands are east of the pacific and close to South America. He also mentioned that there were about 40,000 people! We're planning to travel to the fifteen main islands and the 3 smaller ones. Well, it's time to do Kaylyn's suggestion- explore. I kind of want to see the blue footed-booby again so, see ya!
